These Terms of Service govern your use of PenPal Mail. By creating an account, sending letters, opening letters, replying to users, or using any billing feature, you agree to these terms.

1. Purpose of the Service

PenPal Mail is a web app designed to help people start conversations through random first-contact letters and build ongoing penpal relationships when both sides choose to reply.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account. You may not create accounts for spam, fraud, harassment, impersonation, or any unlawful purpose.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to use PenPal Mail to send abusive, threatening, hateful, sexually exploitative, fraudulent, misleading, or illegal content. You may not use the service to mass-message users, scrape user information, manipulate matching, evade moderation, or interfere with the normal operation of the app.

4. Random Letter Flow

First-contact letters are matched through the product rules of the service. A recipient may choose to open a letter, ignore it, or reply to it. Unopened first-contact deliveries may expire and be reassigned. Opened letters that are not replied to may also expire. PenPal Mail does not guarantee that any specific letter will be opened, replied to, or converted into a long-term penpal relationship.

5. Penpal Relationships and Messaging

A direct penpal relationship is created only when a recipient replies to a first-contact letter. Once a relationship exists, both users may continue messaging through the app subject to moderation, product rules, and account standing.

6. Content and Moderation

You retain responsibility for the content you submit. By using the service, you give PenPal Mail the rights reasonably necessary to store, process, display, moderate, and deliver your content within the app. We may review, restrict, remove, or preserve content when needed for abuse prevention, safety review, legal compliance, billing disputes, or operational support.

7. Reports, Enforcement, and Account Restrictions

Users may report letters, relationships, or accounts. PenPal Mail may warn, limit, suspend, block, or ban accounts, close letters, close relationships, or restrict features when we determine that it is necessary to protect users, enforce these terms, or comply with legal obligations.

8. Premium Features and Billing

Some features may require a paid subscription. Premium availability may also be turned on or off by service administration. Subscriptions renew according to the billing plan unless canceled. If payment fails, is canceled, expires, or is refunded, premium access may be limited or removed. Taxes, fees, and payment-provider rules may apply depending on your location and payment method.

9. No Guarantee of Availability

We may change, pause, limit, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent storage of all content, a minimum number of matches, or a specific response rate from other users.

10. Privacy and Safety

Your use of the service is also subject to the Privacy Policy. You should avoid sharing sensitive personal, financial, or location information in early correspondence unless you fully trust the other person and understand the risks.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if your use creates risk for the platform, other users, payment operations, or legal compliance.

12. Disclaimer and Limitation

PenPal Mail is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the service will always be error-free, secure, or suitable for every user or purpose.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated version.
